Attend Tomorrow’s Town Hall to Learn How to Oppose NorthShore of Saugatuck’s Marina Permit

It’s critical that we mobilize our friends, family, and allies to submit a comment to EGLE by July 20 AND attend the EGLE public hearing (via Zoom) on July 10.

The Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance is holding a town hall at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, June 27, at the Saugatuck High School auditorium, 401 Elizabeth St. in Saugatuck. The meeting will focus on how you can most effectively oppose NorthShore of Saugatuck’s application for a state permit for its proposed marina at the Kalamazoo River Mouth.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), which issues the state permits, has opened a public comment period through July 20 and scheduled a public hearing (via Zoom) on July 10 so citizens like us can officially oppose EGLE issuing permits that would allow excavation and construction of the proposed marina.

The town hall will focus on what to say in your comment and at the hearing – and how to submit your comment and attend the hearing. We’ll also be available after the town hall to help you write your comments if you’d like assistance. We’ll post all the information on our website after the town hall.
